A few weeks ago, I introduced you to my friend, Alisa when she shared several wonderful dairy-free chocolate dessert recipes with us. Today, I am guest posting and sharing a recipe on her website, Go Dairy Free.
As you may know from reading my blog, I have always been a chocolate girl when it comes to sweets. I learned this technique of poaching fruit in aromatics and wine during the first week of my pastry program in culinary school and it helped me see a whole new world of decadence.
Most of Alisa’s readers are dairy-free. I used So Delicious Almond Milk Vanilla Ice cream because I found the almond flavor along with the crunch from the extra roasted almonds on top were the perfect complement to the flavor and texture of the shiraz-poached pears. I really loved the flavor and texture of the ice cream and will definitely be eating it more often around here. However, feel free to use your favorite ice cream and topping or just eat the pears on their own.
